CREATE Web - Wordpress¶
The capcity to host Wordpress sites is available.
Wordpress installations on CREATE do not have sftp access (or access to the database through phpmyadmin or similar) and /wp-admin is only available to KCL users on the KCL network (or via our VPN).
An element of support for the initial transfer and setup of an existing site can be provided. However, any development and on-going maintenance or management of sites is the responsibility of the site owner.
Most sites are hosted under the .sites.er.kcl.ac.uk
domain and, provided the sub-domain is available, can be set up instantaeneously.
The e-Research team can also make sub-domains of .er.kcl.ac.uk
available relatively quickly.
Other .kcl.ac.uk
addresses can also be brought under e-Research management although can take slightly longer.
External domains can also be used either by being brought into the KCL DNS or from an external DNS (however, in such cases, there are likely to be restrcitions on access from within KCL networks).
Wordpress sites can be added by group administrators to existing projects in the e-Research portal (assistance with this can be provided by raising a ticket with support@er.kcl.ac.uk).
To request a new project that will only be used for Wordpress please register the project by sending the Project registration data to support@er.kcl.ac.uk
