KCL e-Research Documentation - CREATE Cloud (Openstack)¶
In addition to HPC facilities CREATE provides cloud computing functionality through OpenStack cloud. OpenStack allows Virtual Machines (VMs) to be created that can host services or applications such as databases to store data from instruments or other sources.
For projects that have been granted access to CREATE Cloud an allocation of 4 vCPUs, 8GB of RAM and 40GB of storage can be provided. Costs to purchase additional capacity will soon be available at e-Research Costs for Grants and privately funded resources can also be added to OpenStack provision (see e-Research Server Price List).
OpenStack cloud can be accessed through a web interface and by using command-line clients. A list of endpoints for the APIs and application credentials can also be obtained in the web interface.
